Here’s more about the role and what we’re looking for; 

We have an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic and hard working Nurse Practitioners to work within the Emergency Department at Queens Hospital Burton.

Here at Burton we care for both Adult and Paediatrics and pride ourselves in diversity of patients we treat. We cover a large population of three county’s those being; Derbyshire, Staffordshire and Leicestershire.

The Emergency Department consists of a 3 bedded resuscitation unit, 12 bay Majors area, 3 bedded assessment area known as pit-stop and a dedicated minors department for patients presenting with Minor injury or illness.

Our aim for your development within the first 12 months would be successful completion of the following training; Manchester triage trained, IRMER (to enable ordering of x-rays), PGD’s, and CBRN training (major incident).

We are supported by Matron, 9 Senior Sisters/Charge Nurses and a clinical development nurse who will help to provide opportunities for training and development.

We work closely with Universities of Derby and Wolverhampton and are committed to the professional development of our staff in order to progress within Emergency Medicine. If you have the drive and determination to work in a dynamic and changing department we would like to hear from you.
