Trust Specialty Registrar (ST3+) Doctor – University Hospitals of Derby & Burton NHS Foundation Trust

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit an enthusiastic doctor to join our trust.

The post is based at Queens Hospital, Burton. We are looking for a full time doctor to work within our Anaesthetics department. This is a fixed term contract for 6 months in the first instance will optimise your clinical experience and enable you to gain relevant clinical competencies.

Please note this is not a training post.

You will be supervised by senior colleagues, and you will have the opportunity to attend teaching sessions to enhance your knowledge and skills, access to an electronic portfolio and the opportunity to participate in Quality Improvement Projects.

University Hospitals of Derby & Burton NHS Foundation Trust provides health care services to the residents of Burton upon Trent and surrounding areas including South Staffordshire, South Derbyshire and North West Leicestershire. The Trust serves a population of approximately 360,000 people and is committed to delivering high quality patient care. The Trust also runs two Community Hospitals, Samuel Johnson at Lichfield and Sir Robert Peel at Tamworth and the Treatment Centre, based on the Queen’s Hospital's Burton site, providing day case and ophthalmology services.

The Trust is strongly placed to provide outreach and community-based clinics, all of which are supported by a dedicated team of clinical staff and senior managers.  The Trust recognises the importance of working in the community, providing patients with the choice to access services in a setting that may be more amenable or comfortable for them. 

The Trust has a keen interest and extensive involvement in Medical Education at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels. We work in partnership with Leicester Medical School, Health Education England in West Midlands and Health Education England to provide quality education and training which meets the requirements of these regulatory bodies as well as the Trust’s high standards of patient care.
