University Hospitals Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is looking for motivated, enthusiastic doctors to join their Trust. Our Trust recognises that investment in the training opportunities that are necessary for your development as a doctor is vital for both our patients and our Trust. We would like to offer you opportunities to increase your experience, build upon the skills you already have, learn new procedures and work in our friendly departments. In this post there will be a particular focus on teaching but there will also be opportunity to perform Quality Improvement Projects and be part of our innovative teams. 

The post holder will rotate through 3 attachments of 4 month duration.  There will be a variety of posts to choose from within Specialist Medicine (Respiratory, Gastroenterology, Diabetes and Endocrinology, Cardiology, Renal, High dependency care, Medicine for the Elderly and Stroke Medicine). 

The post is 50% clinical in 3 different specialties and 50% teaching undergraduates mainly within the Department of Medicine for the Elderly (DME). You will be encouraged to take a teaching qualification such as a certificate in medical/clinical education.

You will receive educational and clinical supervision, access to an Eportfolio and be encouraged to join the established weekly CMT teaching programmes. Subject to individual requirements, there may be scope to attend ALS or IMPACT courses and we will facilitate your annual appraisal. You will be encouraged to take a teaching qualification such as a certificate/diploma in medical education and a contribution will be made towards the cost of this.  Alternatively, if you choose not to enrol for a teaching qualification, you will receive study leave budget of £500 and up to 5 days.

Offering posts suitable for those that have finished their Foundation Programme training, we can also offer positions to those that have worked in the NHS in a medical post for a minimum of 6 months within the past 2 years.
