Here’s more about the role and what we’re looking for; 

We have an excellent opportunity within our friendly aseptic unit for an enthusiastic and motivated technician to join our strong pharmacy team in delivering a high quality service to our patients. This is an ideal opportunity to gain experience for either a recently qualified Pharmacy Technicians or individuals expecting to qualify this summer.

If you have the ability to work using your own initiative, have good communication skills, a high level of accuracy and are keen to develop your aseptic services knowledge and skills this is an ideal position from which to progress your career.

The unit provides TPN, CIVAS stock and palliative care syringes to the hospital and surrounding community hospitals and palliative care syringes to patients in the community.

Duties will include the manufacture of aseptically prepared products and dispensing of controlled drugs. You will be involved with stock control and the ordering of drugs and consumables for the unit.

You will participate in the training of technicians, assistants and other members of staff who come into the unit.

You will be expected to participate in the Bank Holiday and weekend rotas.

The successful candidate should be a team player whilst be flexible , enthusiastic and able to use own initiative.

Applicants will hold a valid BTEC & NVQ level 3 Pharmaceutical Science Certificate and be registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) or expect to become registered this summer.
